The most important goals of the World Federation of Polish Women are
cooperating and coordinating the work of Polish women's organizations
throughout the world for the good of the Polish cause, assisting Poles
within Poland and abroad, fighting for the rights of Polish women in the
east, maintaining Polish culture abroad, representing Polish women on
the world forum, working for equal rights for women, and working with
youth.
One of our intentions is to create an Information-Coordination Centre
on the Internet to gather and share information about cultural events,
conferences, grants, scholarships for youth, and employment opportunities.
We would like to introduce the profiles of interesting people of Polish descent
and create a centre for assistance. Particular pressure needs to be placed on interesting youth of
Polish origin. We want to interest our youth in information about the arts,
business, and science. The World Federation of Polish Women is organizing the
"Golden Fish" competition for young artists. The exhibit will be available
on the Internet in May 2005.
We have been successful in making contact with some women's organizations
around the world. The first important step of the World Federation of Polish
Women was a meeting in Windsor, Canada on
October 10, 2004 with the president of the Federation of Polish Women in the
United States of America, Virginia Sikora and Bogumila Padowska. It was suggested
that we establish closer contacts and meet in Chicago in 2005. |
