Who We Are

Founded in 1956 by Jadwiga Dobrucka, the Polish Canadian Women’s Federation (Federacja Polek w Kanadzie) was created to unite women of Polish origin who wished to preserve their cultural identity while participating actively in Canadian society.

 Seven decades later, that vision continues through 11 active branches across Canada.

Throughout its history, the Federation has brought women together in service: supporting those in need, preserving Polish culture and historical memory, creating educational opportunities for young people, strengthening families and communities, and encouraging women to take active roles in organizational and public life.
Our work has evolved with each generation. Federation members have organized humanitarian assistance and community fundraising, concerts and exhibitions, literary and educational programs, national commemorations, family activities and initiatives for children and youth.
At the same time, the Federation has created a lasting network in which women share knowledge, develop leadership experience and take responsibility for the communities they serve.
Today, our 11 branches continue this legacy in ways that reflect their local communities while remaining connected by a common purpose.
