A Celebration of Unity at the New Year’s Wafer Gathering organized by the Canadian Polish Congress

The annual New Year’s Wafer Gathering (Spotkanie Opłatkowe) was organized by the Canadian Polish Congress (Kongres Polonii Kanadyjskiej – KPK) at the John Paul II Polish Cultural Centre in Mississauga.

This beautifully organized and meaningful event brought together distinguished guests, including representatives of the Government of Poland, the Government of Ontario, elected officials, and leaders of numerous Polish Canadian organizations.

The gathering provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues, exchange ideas, discuss plans for the coming year, and reflect on the continued work of organizations serving the Polish Canadian community, as well as strengthening the ties between Poland and Canada.

The Polish Canadian Women’s Federation (Federacja Polek w Kanadzie – FPK) was represented by:

  • President Anna Wołochacz
  • Iwona Bogorya-Buczkowska, President of Branch No. 1
  • Alicja Kotynia, President of Branch No. 17
  • Halina Madej, President of Branch No. 3 (Edmonton)

The Polish Canadian Women’s Federation extends its sincere appreciation to the National Executive of the Canadian Polish Congress (Zarząd Główny Kongresu Polonii Kanadyjskiej – ZG KPK) for organizing this exceptional gathering. The warm, welcoming, and family-like atmosphere made it a memorable beginning to the New Year and a wonderful celebration of community, friendship, and shared traditions.
